Why people buy static residential proxies

  • 1

    You stay recognisable

The website sees one visitor from start to finish, so a login or checkout is not interrupted by a sudden change of address.

  • 2

    Websites trust it

The IP belongs to a real household connection, so you are treated like any other visitor at home.

  • 3

    Any country you need

Pools cover almost every country, and often single cities, so you can appear exactly where you need to be.

  • 4

    Pay for what you use

You buy data, not a fixed number of IPs. Start small and top up when you need more.

  • 5

    Setup takes minutes

You get an address, a username and a password. Paste them into your browser or tool and you are done.

  • 6

    Good to know

A session ends after a while, and can end early if the home device goes offline. Need the same IP for weeks? Get an ISP proxy.

What is a static residential proxy?

A static residential proxy is a real home IP address that stays the same for your whole session instead of changing with every request. You connect through it, and websites see that address instead of your own.

The IP comes from a large pool of household connections. You hold on to one for as long as the session lasts, which is up to about 90 minutes at most providers, and then you are given a new one. This is also called a sticky session.

How is that different from an ISP proxy?

An ISP proxy is a fixed IP address that is rented to you alone. It is registered to an internet provider but runs on a server, so it never goes offline and it stays the same for the whole month. Some providers also call these "static residential proxies", which is why the two get mixed up. On this site, static residential means a real home IP held for a session, and ISP means one IP for the month.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a static residential proxy keep the same IP?

For the length of your session. At most providers a session can last up to about 90 minutes, after which you get a new IP. A session can end earlier if the home device behind the IP goes offline.

What is the difference between a static residential proxy and an ISP proxy?

A static residential proxy is a real home IP from a shared pool that you hold for one session. An ISP proxy is a fixed IP rented to you, hosted on a server, that stays the same for the whole month. Some providers use the name static residential for ISP proxies as well.

I need the same IP for weeks. What should I buy?

An ISP proxy. It keeps the same IP address for the whole month and for as long as you keep renewing it.

Should I buy static or rotating residential proxies?

Buy static if the website needs to see one visitor from start to finish, for example a login or a checkout. Buy rotating if you need many different IPs, for example collecting large amounts of data.

Do I need technical skills to use one?

No. You receive an address, a port, a username and a password, and you enter them in the proxy settings of your browser, app or tool.

Are static residential proxies legal?

Using a proxy is legal in most countries. What matters is what you do through it. You remain responsible for following the law, respecting the terms of the sites you access, and handling personal data correctly.

Where can I buy static residential proxies?
