Use cases and the proxy type that fits
- Rotating
Web scraping at scale
Collecting public data from many pages. Rotation spreads requests across a large pool so that no single IP carries enough traffic to be limited.
- Rotating
Price and stock intelligence
Retailers show different prices by country and city. A rotating network with city targeting shows what local shoppers see.
- ISP
Account management
Agencies and sellers who run several business accounts keep each one on its own dedicated IP, so logins always come from a consistent location.
- ISP or rotating
Ad verification
Checking that ads appear where they should, in the right country, without fraud. ISP proxies for fixed checkpoints, rotating for broad sampling.
- ISP
SEO rank tracking
Search results vary by location. Tracking from the same IP in the same city every day keeps the numbers comparable.
- Rotating
Brand protection
Finding counterfeit listings and unauthorised sellers, which often hide content from known corporate and datacenter ranges.
- Static
QA and geo-testing
Walking through your own site, app or checkout as one visitor in another country or city, from start to finish.
A simple rule
If the task is about being one visitor for a short task, use a static residential proxy. If it is about being the same visitor every day, use an ISP proxy. If it is about being many different visitors, use rotating residential proxies.

Using proxies responsibly
A proxy changes where your traffic appears to come from. It does not change what you are allowed to do.
- Collect only data you are entitled to access, and treat personal data according to the privacy laws that apply to you.
- Read the terms of the sites you work with, and keep request rates low enough that you do not degrade their service.
- Follow the acceptable-use policy of your proxy provider. All reputable providers prohibit fraud, spam and attacks, and will close accounts used for them.

Frequently asked questions
Which proxy type is best for web scraping?
Rotating residential proxies for large volumes or sites that block datacenter ranges. For small, steady jobs against a few pages, ISP or even datacenter proxies can be enough and cost less.
How many ISP proxies do I need for account management?
The usual practice is one dedicated IP per account, located in the country the account is registered in.
Do I need a residential proxy for SEO tools?
If you track rankings in specific locations or at volume, yes. Search engines limit repeated automated queries from datacenter ranges, and results differ by location.
